On-the-fly kill
TOMI’s proprietary Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation lamps work by producing UVC (254 nm) and UVV (187 nm) radiation. UVC is short-wave radiation; it attacks the DNA of the cell and deactivates mold, bacteria and viruses. UVV is primarily used for oxidation; this is the portion of the lamp that will destroy chemicals and odors such as cigarette smoke, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), diesel fumes and formaldehyde.
Using TOMI’s UVGI terminators installed in the HVAC systems, we are able to reduce the risk of airborne infections, as well as any harmful chemicals. In addition, using our UVGI coil irradiation, we remove the bio-film build up that reduces the efficiency of air-conditioning – resulting in significant energy savings for the numerous clients that installed our system.
